Are you (or
do you know of) a student completing grades 9 - 11 with a current GPA of
3.0 on a 4.0 scale in English, Math, Science, and Social Studies
who is interested in health careers?
Doctors of Our Community (DOC) is designed to introduce students to opportunities in
health careers by exposure to professional schools and
practitioners in Allopathic Medicine, Dentistry, Medicine, Medical
Research, Nursing, Optometry, Pharmacy, Veterinary Medicine, and other medical
career options. Discussions and simulations of college application process and selection
provide practical experiences for college bound students. In addition,
the students are coached on survival skills such as test taking strategies,
word processing, and reading and writing competencies.
The DOC program provides a unique
opportunity to economically disadvantaged students in Wisconsin
The program runs July 26th
– August 4th and it is a residential camp (students will reside in
the residence halls at UW-Parkside).

PS:
Congrats to all of our graduates this past weekend! It was great
seeing all of you "cross the stage!" I will also be posting the
Chancellor's Midnight breakfast as soon as I fix my "technical difficulties' with my camera!
