Hi! I am Marie Smith. I am the Career Development Coordinator here at UW-Parkside. Fun facts about me: I like wearing whimsical socks. I love playing Scrabble. I enjoy arts and crafts (painting, cake decorating, and more). My handsome husband and I have adorable twin sons. I have a strong interest in career development, teaching and learning, curriculum development, technology, and multimedia communication. Career development is an essential aspect of lifelong learning and continued success. Do you have career development questions? I have answers J I look forward to getting to know all of you. Feel free to visit me in the Advising and Career Center, Wyllie D175. You are welcome to email me directly at smithm0@uwp.edu. I have been working in the career development field since January 1995. I have been working in the UW-P Advising and Career Center since 2001. Before my arrival at UW-P, I worked at Alverno College as the Manager of Career Programs. Prior to that, I worked at Kaiser Group as the Career Education Coordinator (with Racine County Workforce Development Center and Kenosha County Job Center). I have a Master of Education in Curriculum and Instruction and a Bachelor of Arts in Communication with a minor in studio art. I have several career assessment qualifications/certifications including the Myers Briggs Type Indicator and the Strong Interest Inventory. I belong to numerous professional organizations, although I am most active in the National Career Development Association. Pictured below: Tina Plasmier and Marie Smith
