Hi, I’m Jackie! I feel so lucking to be here. I came to UW-Parkside in September 2012 as an intern in the Academic Advising and Career Center. I am currently pursuing a Masters of Science degree in Counseling from Mount Mary College with the intention of pursuing a career in higher education doing both academic advising and career counseling. I also have a Masters of Arts Degree from DePaul University in Social and Cultural Foundations of Education (June 2008). I received my undergraduate degree from Carthage College in 2005 in Sociology and Criminal Justice. Before coming to Parkside I worked as an intern at the Milwaukee Center For Independence in the employment services department. Most of the work I did was in assessment and evaluation where I regularly administered aptitude tests, interest inventories, work values inventories, and academic tests. I also worked with clients who were actively looking for employment and assisted them with their job searches, resumes, interviewing skills, and general concerns. I am so excited about the opportunities to build my skills and abilities here at UW-Parkside.
In addition, I am a personal trainer, hockey player, and avid adventurer. I am always willing to try something new to put myself out there. As a Personal Trainer I work with clients on total wellness, not just their physical health but their emotional and mental health as well. The best part of being a personal trainer is being able to impact the lives of my clients in positive and challenging ways every day. I intend to maintain that core value as I continue here as an intern in the Academic Advising and Career Center.
