Bad Hair Day and the Paparazzi

Being in the "biz" I realize that publicity and the public eye are part of the territory. But sometimes the paparazzi can be a pain. Allow me to explain ... this photo (taken with my good friends Joan and Greg Janutka) was snapped just after a somewhat challenging day at Twin Lakes Country Club for the Parkside men's basketball golf outing. I say challenging because -- as much as bears like to ... well, you know ... in the woods, that kinda describes my game that day. I was in the woods a lot and it was ... crappy (this is a family blog). I'm heading for the showers to freshen up before the handshakes and hugs that go with this type of event when I see my buds. They were out for a bike ride. Of course I'm going to stop and say hi -- they're friends. This paparazzo comes over and WILL NOT go away without snappin' our photo. Look at me, I'm a mess. Aaaaaanyway, my fans have made me what I am and I always have time for my fans. Joan and Greg -- good to see you guys again. Stay in touch!

Ya Gotta Luv Scholarships

I was feelin' the love at the Scholar and Donor Recognition Program Friday night -- lots of high fives and hugs (bear hugs, of course). But RDB was not the star of the show. The terrific Parkside students and the very cool and generous people who provide the scholarships were on the "A" list at this particular shindig. Given that "somebody" sent my tux to the cleaners the day before, Ranger Bear was honored to be in such auspicious company.

They'rrrrrrrre Baaaaaaack!

Last week was crazy! But in a good way. I stopped by the student convocation on Tuesday. Made a bunch of new friends. Hey, check out my photo with Craig and LaVontay. Oh, then there was this girl -- I was ready to bite her -- she's like trying to pull my head off. Does she think I'm in some kind of costume? And, by the way, my name is NOT Dustin. Duuuuuh! A bunch of you took pictures -- put 'em on my blog. I had my teeth cleaned this summer and I want to make sure I still got that killer smile. I'm pretty good about brushing, but I don't floss nearly as often as I should. Did a photo shoot for a new dining ad yesterday -- I think they said it's going national. I hope they got my good side. Hey, somebody help me with this, I heard there's a dude on cable who hates bears. Who is this guy?
