As I tossed and turned in my den last night, waging a mental battle between the good of a fully functional repaired incisor and the concern over drills, picks and needles spewing novacaine, an odd thought crossed my mind.
I have relatives "in the wild" who do not have the option of quality dental care. I should be pretty darn thankful that I have this opportunity. And that got me to thinking that I should take better care of my teeth. Oh, don't get me wrong. I brush regularly and floss now and then -- especially after eating sweet corn.
But while I was struggling with my own periodontal demoms, an infomercial appeared on the shopping channel (I gotta get me some of those Emeril Lagasse pots and pans) promoting the new Oral B Pulsonic. Well, sir, when I saw the cleaning power of that hand-held beauty ... I just had to have one. Fortunately, there is a 24-hour Walgreens in my neighborhood. Let's just say, the cashier was a little unsure of the situation when I strolled in about an hour past bar time.
I can't wait to give the Pulsonic a try. It has to charge for up to 16 hours ... but then, look out. I'm going to make sure the teeth I have are clean and shiny before I visit the DeRose sisters.
