Spirit Week in full force!

It's spirit week here on campus. Should be a fun time at tonight's basketball games. The women tee off at 5:30 and the men get it going at 7:30, both against the University of Indianapolis.

Saturday, don't forget, Alumni Day at the Basketball Games! According to my good friend Amber Engel, more than 100 alums have RSVPeeded for Saturday. See you there!

It's back to work...

You may not realize that bears have been called the smartest creatures on earth. Why? Because when it gets cold and snowy, we're smart enough to find a warm place to bunk and we take a really long nap. That my friends, is smart.

But due to my responsibilities as cheerleader numero uno here at UW-P, I don't get to sleep as long as some of my semi-lazy cousins. Next week is Spirit Week on campus and I am wide awake and ready to get busy!

I'll be all over campus next week and at the basketball games Thursday night and Saturday afternoon. You better be there, too. Saturday afternoon, that would be January 31, it's Alumni Day at the Basketball Games. If you're an Alum, there's free admission, free food, prizes -- what a deal!

The women dropped a heart-breaker last night against former GLVC foe and now DI SIU Edwardsville -- a foul with 0.1 seconds left !!!??? C'mon, ref!

The guys got it going late in the first half and topped Northland Bible Baptist which is so far north in Wisconsin that players qualify for dual citizenship with Canada, eh?

LaVontay Fenderson tossed in 26 points. As of Jan. 18, he is the second leading scorer IN THE COUNTRY in Division II.

Ya know I was just checkin' out my blog to make sure my lastest posts were, well, posted. And then I noticed in the right-hand column where there are some of my fav photos ... I'm standing there with Craig Cunningham and LaVontay Fenderson -- me, Ranger Bear, my picture with 'Vontay Fenderson, the nation's leading scorer in Division II.

You may have noticed that LaVontay Fenderson is scoring a bunch 'o points for the Ranger men's basketball team this season. So many, in fact, that as of Jan. 4, LaVontay was tied for the top scorer IN THE NATION ... let me repeat that IN THE NATION in NCAA DII.

Way to go,'Vontay!

The Ranger women's basketball team made it nine in a row last night. They go for double digits Saturday at 1 p.m. against Missouri S&T.

Hey, boys and girls. Welcome to 2009. I hope you enjoyed the holiday season, got to spend some time with family and friends and maybe even received that special gift you had been hoping for.

Probably don't have to tell you that I did not see Willy the Wolf Cub for yet another year, but I did get some cool gifts including an adjustable wrench with a battery! Oh, yeah, it's pretty cool.

For those of you who ever tuned into Sesame Street, you probably had a favorite character. One of my favs was Count von Count. ONE ... ONE adjustable wrench with a battery for Ranger Bear (of course delivered with a Transylvanian accent).

How 'bout EIGHT ... EIGHT victories in a row for the Ranger women's basketball team! A school record!

The Rangers go for NINE ... NINE victories in a row Thursday night at 5:30 against GLVC rival Drury (by the way, about a month ago, Drury was ranked number TWENTY-ONE ... TWENTY-ONE in the nation in Division TWO ... TWO).

On the other side of the counting coin, the men's basketball team will try to stop a THREE ... THREE game losing streak Thursday night at 7:30 against Drury.

C'mon out and cheer on the Rangers!!!
